On September 20, the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman joined other Club's in District 7020 to participate in the International Coastal Clean Up, working towards our District sub-theme "Go Green"!

Charged with cleaning as many miles of coastline as possible in this united effort, twenty two Rotaractors, prospective members & their guests, including Rotarian Dawn, carpooled to Barker's Beach to clear trash! Armed with sunblock, bug spray, bottled water, gloves & garbage bags, we got a 7am start & eagerly began filling our garbage bags with items such as glass/plastic bottles, old shoes, cans, cups, bottle caps & plastic utensils. We even managed to find the discarded top of a household freezer!! Noticing the storm clouds gathering above us, we worked hurriedly & managed to collect 15 bags of trash before the rain came! That didn't dampen our Rotaract spirit at all!! We dumped our bags in a dumpster near the site & headed off to a hearty breakfast, enjoying a lovely rainbow on the way! Nature was happy with our good work!! After breakfast, the fellowship & sunshine continued, with Fellowship Guru Matt & Prospective member Omari leading the way to the 7 Mile Public Beach for some sand & sea action!! Great work everyone on getting our GREEN thumbs out & helping to keep District 7020 clean!!
