World Rotaract Week is HERE and our major service project is going fantastically well! Donations continue to pour in!  A great big thank you to the entire community for supporting this effort. Photos of our trip in August 2007 are posted under the Photo Journals tab on this website.

We have been inundated wtih donations of children's items for donation to the Red Cross Convalescent Home (an orphanage in Guyana which houses children who are living with HIV or orphaned by AIDS).  While we do not want to discourage donations, IPP Dorothy, the main contact for the project, leaves for Guyana on 13 March and we will resume collections in early April. Please continue to monitor our website for more details.

In the meantime, we would encourage everyone to make donations of any excess clothing or toys directly to our local Red Cross for sale at its thrift shop. Proceeds of those sales helps fund the Cayman Red Cross' "Together We Can" HIV/AIDS education campaign in Cayman's local high schools. By supporting our local Red Cross and by learning more about HIV prevention, we can ensure that our community never has need for a Convalescent Home for Caymanian HIV orphans.

However, we are still looking for children's BOOKS and SCHOOL SUPPLIES for donation to the Sophia Literacy Project which our twin club, the Rotaract Club of Georgetown, Guyana has sponsoring for the last ten years.

Please contact any member of the board of directors to make arrangements for collection! All board members may be contacted directly from our webpage.
